Isle of Palms 2016

We arrived at a soggy Isle of Palms the first week of June for a little beach time with daddy.  The rain broke up enough for a quick beach walk our first day there.

Mr. Sunshine was in plentiful abundance the rest of the week as were these happy smiles.

Every day a fisherman would catch sharks and everyone would gather around and take pics and get a closer look.  My kids were completely unimpressed.

I sent this pic to Rosie and posted it on insta and said I cannot believe I'm at the stage of life where my babes play in the sand and I read a magazine.  I miss those days of napping on beach blankets and little sandy toes and hands!

After playing all day we would come in and get dressed to go out for dinner.

We had dinner at a few of our favorites including Morgan Creek Grill.

Peninsula Grill coconut cake.

Suffered through waiting in line at Poe's..

Rewarded ourselves with ice cream.

Watched the boats from Fleet Landing.

And splashed around in our favorite fountains.

Needless to say we crashed early every night.

Night night Charleston-thanks for sharing a wonderful week with us.

Summer Wrap Up

I guess Labor Day weekend is the official end of summer….sigh.  I miss carefree days and sundresses and flip flops already.  BUT.. Fall is around the corner!!!! PSLs, football, sweaters, boots, pot roast, building fires!!!

Figured I'd try to catch up with a little August/Summer recap.

We went shoe shopping for the babes for some practical playground footwear.  Carsyn spotted the Skecher Twinkle Toes and it was love at first sight.

Can I wear them with my Lilly dresses….

Y'all go ahead and warm your feet by the fire… I don't want to take my shoes off..

So that pretty much sums up school for Carsyn…All smiles as long as she wears her Twinkle Toes.

Speaking of school..Hank cried the first week.  It was pretty pitiful, but his teacher told me the minute I left he was his usual happy self.

Shortly after that he yelled for me to come to his room one night.  When I got there he said "mom, I like school…I'm not going to cry anymore." And just like that he didn't.

I mean.  How sweet is that face?

We had a lot of fun times at the pool this summer.  Carsyn learned how to swim (in the little end only) without her puddle jumper.  This particular day Hank decided to jump in not wearing his.  Lets just say we'll work on his swim skills next summer.

We spent a few days this summer at my In-laws home playing in the playhouse.

My MIL gave Carsyn's playhouse a bit of a makeover and its pretty awesome.  I need to share that with you.

We ended the month celebrating my birthday at Windy Corner Market.

And Shanes at Palmers.

I treated myself to a mimosa or two..

The kiddos treated me to lunch at Wallace Station!

This and That

Is Summer supposed to be crazy busy?? Because I thought it was time to sit back and relax and instead I feel like there's always so many things to do.

We try to visit the outdoor theatre close to my hometown every summer.

This year they did an performance of Shrek and the kids loved it.  Heck, we all loved it.

Aren't they the sweetest?

Speaking of my hometown…We also ventured to EKY one weekend for my cousin, Kyle's wedding.

I might have taken more pics of the kids than the actual bride and groom.

In case you don't know this is my gorgeous sister, my sweet aunt (mother of the groom), fabulous Rosie, my beautiful cousin, and myself.  It was such a fun and beautiful wedding.  I have never seen my cousin. Kyle happier.  We were all thinking of my beloved grandmother and how happy she would have been on this day.

Otherwise we've been hanging out the pool when its not raining (i.e. every single day) and doing a little shopping with Rosie.

On a good note rainy days mean we pretty much have the pool to ourselves and I can catch up on a little reading.
